Today I'm thankful for sweet conversations with my 4 year old that led to talking about God, Jesus, Adam, Eve, the Garden, Satan the snake, and eventually PRAYER!!! Wow, I think I'm FINALLY getting through to my 4 year old...I mean, he knows we pray before we eat dinner, he knows we pray in church, but today's conversation led to him deciding that he needed to pray to God to help him be a good listener.
Sometimes I need that reminder too...that I'm not always a good listener. Right now, I'm trying ever so hard to listen to where God wants me to go with my life and quite honestly, I don't feel him speaking in some areas, but I can see he's getting ready to do something with my life based on my past and based on things my 4 year old and I talk about on the way in to Muskegon. Hopefully this little car ride stuck with my son and he continues to pray to God whenever he needs someone to listen to him, or when he just needs to talk to God.

Thankful for May 11, 2013
So today, before I forget, I just need to say Thanks God for Kyler and the gift you gave me in him. He gave me tears in my eyes today at Kohl's. We went shopping for Mother's day since I've been out of town at a conference and haven't really had time to sit and do much of anything. Kyler brought some of his own money (reluctantly) with him to be spending on the important "mothers" in his life. As we were walking through Kohl's he kept saying, Mom, I'm gonna buy you a ring, a necklace, and a bracelet. Won't you like that? It was too cute. Then we got over by the jewelry because he was so intent on finding something for his mom for mother's day that he could spend his own money on. He kept picking up really gaudy stuff and I kept trying to convince him along with Nate that we should keep looking. Nate finally found a "packaged deal" of 5 bracelets that was on clearance. He decided that would be a good gift and took them, but continued to look around at the other jewelry. He kept saying, but mom, I just want to buy you something. Then he said but mom, I want to buy you everything! It made 2 other ladies in the store say awwww and it brought tears to my eyes! Lord knows I needed that little blessing today, so Thanks Lord for the little reminders that you're right here with me!

Thankful March 16, 2013
Again I'm thankful for a few things...
1. A GREAT husband and dad! He got up to pat Lena on the back at 3:30 and let me go back to sleep til 6! I got more good rest...just wish I wasn't sick! Nate also got up and made green breakfast in honor of us celebrating my FAVORITE holiday...St. Patrick's Day! We had green eggs, green pancakes, and spam. It was GOOD and filling!
2. Time with family...even if it was in the FREEZING cold! We got a couple good pictures of me with the kids sitting waiting for the St. Patrick's day parade to start! and then we went and celebrated lunch at Florentine's with a GREEN drink! It was fun.
3. Extended family!...Had my nephew over tonight while my sis and brother in-law went to a comedy thing...and it was fun! We got 3 kids fed, changed, and in bed (well, Kyler wasn't asleep, and it was hard to get the other 2 to sleep), but we did it! Also, I got a message from my aunt on facebook and hopefully my words were encouraging to her as well.
4. a post about my dad on facebook and how he was such a faith filled man and so influential...I guess after all these years, I never really thought of my dad quite like that, but it was nice seeing someone else recognizing him for what he did...and it made me really think about how I was raised as well.
5. Saturday nights! I'm so full right now with everything the LORD has given me this week and I can't wait to go to church tomorrow and just spend my time in worship! I'm so relaxed from what this week brought me and now I'm ready to go back to God's house and praise HIM!
6. More encouraging and uplifting messages from friends (again, thanks Pam...and hopefully some day you read this!)

Thankful March 15, 2013
Today, I'm thankful for MANY things...
1. Waking up feeling rested. I slept for a 6 hour stretch last night and can feel a difference this morning.
2. Godly people I am surrounded by who encourage me and push me forward! (Thanks Pam!)
3. Fridays (and payday Friday at that!)
4. Radios in the car--I swear some days God is speaking directly to me through the songs that come on the radio--it's eerie!
5. A WONDERFUL husband who is SO loving and caring, and a GREAT dad! Sure we have our differences and challenges, but I'm so glad God brought Nathan and I together and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
6. A great daycare provider for my children who is not only their daycare provider, but a friend. She is also very informative!
7. My daughter is SLEEPING!!! We'll see how it goes tonight (she was/is sick and didn't sleep much at daycare today).
8. Sunday is St. Patrick's Day...my FAVORITE holiday cause of the color! Can't wait to spend a little down time celebrating with my family (even though we're not in the least bit Irish!)

Thankful March 3, 2013
Today I am thankful for my son's conversation. The first time in the car on the way to Muskegon to my parent's house, Kyler told me that he prayed today in his children's church and he said he was thankful for "his baby" (aka, Lena). We talked about being thankful and praying and how we need to do this daily because no matter what, God is GOOD! We also talked today after lunch when we got a call that my Grandma Ritchard (dad's mom) had passed away. Kyler painted such a sweet innocent picture of Heaven and that he would be going to Heaven someday to see Gigi Elvie and that she was now flying on the clouds. He made us laugh and lightened up a very dark, sad occasion.

Today I am thankful for Fun down time with my family. We took Kyler and Lena to go see Disney on Ice today and enjoyed 2 hours of watching some of Kyler's favorite Disney characters dance around on ice skates (or as Kyler likes to say, roller skates!). It was a fun and relaxing time with family!

Today I am thankful for FRIDAY!!! It has been a while now since we've had a full week of school, and I can feel it. I am exhausted and tired, but I have made it, and I am happy. I am also thankful for an administrator who backs me up on controlling my class and helps step in when needed.
