New Dishwasher!!!

Well, Nathan and I are the proud new owners of a GE dishwasher. I am so excited to try it out...unfortunately when the men came to install it the first time they told me I needed to get a shutoff valve placed on the line under our kitchen sink. Thank goodness I didn't try just getting things done on my own. Nathan called a plumber and we found out how much that would really cost...45 dollars to come check it out, plus 84 dollars per hour for 2 hours, plus parts. Needless to say, we didn't get that done. I simply called Home Depot back and asked if that was really necessary...They told me that I could turn the main water off but that the installer was not allowed to do that per GE. I thought that was a little odd until they came and started installing. Everything was fine until it was time to turn the water back on. The one installer was a little ticked that he had to come back to my house and install the thing without a valve placed on the main line, but he just kept grumbling to himself while the other installer just went ahead and turned the water off for me. When the nice guy turned the water back on however, I heard something start spraying in the bathroom. I jumped up figuring it was just the water on in the bathroom because we had to turn all the water spickets on in order to relieve pressure on the line the men were working on...however I quickly thought uh oh Nathan said not to use the sink in the bathroom since he had started working on it last night (we have a big clog in there!) anyways...when I got in the bathroom I turned the sink water off and still heard water spraying...I looked and it was pouring out of the back of the toilet. I thought uh oh...what did this guy do? Now what am I going to have to pay for? Well, anyways, he was nice enough to come and help me clean it up and turn the water back off again. Then the grumpy guy was like well we gotta turn the water back on before we leave...so then he finally asked what was wrong in the bathroom and he came and checked things out. He opened up the back of the toilet and found that a hose had blown off and was spraying out the back of the toilet. We replaced that and everything was fine...or so we thought. I went downstairs only to find water dripping down the pipes in the basement from the toilet. I dried everything upstairs, took all the towels downstairs and threw them in the wash and then started working on cleaning up around the pipe. I think now finally after about 2 hours, I have everything cleaned up, a fan is on drying things out, and Kyler is napping. I better stop here since Kyler is waking up...but what a day! oh, on a happier note...Kyler is 6 months old today...we're going to go get pictures taken at Penny's tonight...I'll try to post some of the pictures if I can.
