Today I am thankful to be alive and to be at a stage in my pregnancy where I can be pretty sure I'm feeling baby girl move! We had a bit of a scare today when Nate decided we needed to take Kyler out to use his new Christmas saucer and snow tube on the hill at Mulick Park. I wasn't going to go with them at first, but Nate convinced me to just come that they wouldn't be there long and I figured I should probably get a few pics of Kyler sledding anyways...so we loaded up in the car and headed to the hill.
We got to the park and there were quite a few people there sledding already and the hill seemed a bit big for Kyler to go on by himself yet so I made Nate get on the tube with Kyler and I said I'd wait at the bottom and take pictures. Well, I zoomed my camera in to take a picture of them at the top of the hill and the next thing I knew I hear Erin look out! Well I guess I was out of it or my camera was zoomed in too far and then BAM! Nathan clipped my legs out from underneath me, I was thrown over top of them and then landed pretty hard on my left hip. Nathan ran over to me and said Erin you're bleeding. Sure enough I had had blood on my gloves. I sat there for a second, felt fine other than my throbbing pain in between my eyes and my nose so I got up and decided to go to the car to call the doctor. The only problem was that the doctor's office was closed so I got to talk with the on call doctor. She said to watch for any cramping or bleeding and to just sit tight. Well, after getting home, talking with my mom and Nate, I started to just plain worry. I prayed that God would give us the peace that we needed to get through this and that he would make sure everything was ok with our family and baby girl! and let me tell you, did he EVER! God is SO awesome.
So, we decided to get back in the car and head to the ER just to see if they could put me on monitors or something to make sure baby girl was ok. I got to the hospital and there were quite a few people in ER already, but I must have been pushed through and I was seen relatively quickly. They took me back to a room and a doc came in maybe 20 minutes after getting to the hospital. The doc took all my information and actually seemed more concerned about the gash in my forehead and my hip than my baby. When the person from registration came in, we finally said to her that I really wasn't in much pain other than the gash on my forehead but that we REALLY wanted to make sure baby girl was ok and was there anything they could do to check her out. The lady asked the doctor and they got someone from ob to come down and just listen to baby girl's heartbeat (thankfully she found it right away!). It was between 153 and 160 and she said it sounded really good. At this time I started feeling baby girl moving all around again so I knew God was again comforting us in that small ER room. The doc came back after checking with some colleagues and decided we wouldn't need to do an x-ray of my hip because I was able to walk on my own and there was no real pain there, just stiffness. The doctor did tell us to go home, rest, and take it easy. I decided to take tomorrow off with a little bit of hesitation only because I hate taking days off, but I am really quite stiff and achy and when we got ready to leave the ER I felt so completely exhausted and tired that I figured I could use one more day to rest up before heading back to my classroom.
So, that's my story...crazy Iknow, but man could I EVER feel God's hand present today and it is such an amazing feeling! I KNOW he listens to my prayers and he answered them today!

Our Gender Reveal Party!!!
I just want to make sure I document this, so I'm writing it on here...it's just the details of our gender reveal party...read if you want!
I want to document a few things on how our Gender Reveal Party on New Years Eve went down before I forget. We sent out invitations a little late (but it was only family coming, and they all knew about it anyways!), but we got them out by Christmas Eve. Our theme was all about bees…we had a bar-BEE-que, we asked the question what’s baby Studer gonna BEE? And we had lots of little things to tie in the yellow and black bumble bee theme.
Everyone was asked to wear either pink or blue based on their decision as to what they thought I was carrying—boy or girl. Almost EVERYONE wore pink and a couple people (Uncle Wayne and my dad) tried to be smart by wearing both pink AND blue! Oh well. I guess I really do need to shut my mouth and not voice my opinion so loudly. Oh well. We still had fun with it although we didn’t get a whole group shot of everyone that came. I created 2 other little game-ish type things for people to play. One was guess when baby Studer will arrive where everyone had to guess the date and time and closest guess when the baby arrived would get a prize, and the other was name suggestions. It was fun to see what everyone thought—early, late, boy, girl, family name, unique name, etc.
After everyone arrived and we had the food set, Nathan prayed a VERY nice prayer thanking everyone for coming, thanking God for his provision in 2011, and for this baby I was carrying. It got a bit emotional toward the end, but he made it through and then it was time to eat. We had bar-bee-qued pork, pulled pork sandwiches with open pit sauce, pulled pork sandwiches plain, chips, corn, potato salad, and a fruit salad. To drink we had a pineapple punch, ice water, coffee, a variety of hot chocolates, 2 liters of pop that Nathan’s parents brought, and beer (although I don’t think anyone drank one, but Nathan HAD to have beer to offer people different options and he said that beer went with our bar-bee-que theme). After eating dinner I had people finish up their guesses as to when the baby would arrive and names, and then we rounded everyone up upstairs in our living room where we were to open a bottle of colored champagne. Nathan figured that because I wanted to have a party to celebrate this baby’s gender he would get in on the creativity and figure out a cool way to reveal the gender—instead of just a boring cake cutting (according to him!).
We had everyone in the living room and we had Kyler help us hold the champagne glass. Nathan popped the cork off the bottle and it did start bubbling over a little bit to which everyone could see that it was pink, but he poured it and everyone smiled and said their congratulations. We then poured a little champagne (or sparkling grape juice for those of us who couldn’t or didn’t want to drink) and had a toast to this new life and the new year! After the toast, I made Nathan come in our dining room where we cut open a cake that my mom had purchased from a local baker who put pink filling in the cake. We also had chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels with yellow stripes to look like bumblebees and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. After we ate dessert people congratulated us and said their goodbyes and Nathan, his parents, Kyler and I cleaned up just a little bit, then watched a movie (Feivel Goes West) upon which I fell asleep (surprise!) maybe 5 minutes in. Grandpa and Grandma Studer went upstairs to bed and Kyler stayed awake to ring in the new year with Nate. He made it to midnight (they did wake me up just before midnight!) and then we took him upstairs to bed. He called Grandpa Chuck and told him Happy New Year and then immediately (I mean like 2 seconds off the phone) put his head on the pillow and was OUT! The only bad thing was he didn’t sleep well in our room and woke up at 3am, but I guess I must have had enough sleep because I was up at 8 and getting ready to go to church. All in all our party was a success, and we rang in the New Year with WONDERFUL news and had a blast doing it with family!
and now, for some pics of the night!

Today I am thankful for bedtime and routines! Kyler has had such an exhausting holiday break and REALLY needs his sleep, however the past 2 days he's been REFUSING to go to sleep. He keeps himself awake somehow and just cries for either Nate or I to go in his room to turn on the monitor light. I don't know what it is about this monitor light and why he keeps calling us because he knows he can reach it and turn it on himself, but he wants US to come in and do it for him and then he's fine...but he's NOT SLEEPING! AHHHH I'm gonna pull my hair out if he does this next week. I NEED my sleep! How am I ever going to manage with 2??? Tonight I'm thankful for routines and bedtimes cause hopefully after tonight we'll be getting back on track and getting Kyler in bed and sleeping by 8pm!
I'm also thankful for Sunday sermons (again a good one from Pastor Steve on Ecclesiastes 3--a time for everything), naps and cuddling with my baby, I love yous from loved ones, and a new year. I'm thankful that God has brought me into the new year with health and the hope of a new baby on the way! Now, if only May would just hurry up and get here!

December 31, 2011
Well, let me just say first that I'm thankful for this baby GIRL that is growing in my belly!!! YAY! Now, with that out of the way, I'm thankful for 2011...even though it had its fair share of down times, it had a LOT of really great and wonderful times too! God has been ever faithful throughout the entire year and not once did he waiver! What an amazing GOD I serve! It gives me shivers just thinking about all the things God has done for me in the past year and where he has brought me and how he has provided for me. Several months ago I would NOT have said I was thankful for my miscarriages, but they taught me so much more than anyone else could ever explain to me. They taught me love, they taught me life, and they taught me courage! With God by my side I can get through ANYTHING! Ahhh...it feels so good to just write! I MUST get to bed though...got church in the morning and it's already 1am! ahhh...Guess tomorrow's gonna be a nap takin' day for this momma!
And here's an ultrasound that we had on Thursday that reveals gender, but not so much. The ultrasound tech said she couldn't be 100%. What do you think? We did get a MUCH clearer picture on Friday though so we're pretty certain we can think PINK!
